My Gotcha Day and my first days with my new family

About me
In October 2020 (during COVID), my mawdre camped out for me at the Animal Shelter for an entire day and night. She knew I was worth it and it was the only way to guarantee that I would get to go home with her. She'd done this previously for my step-sister, Ophelia but this time she didn't want anyone to adopt me first like they did her. Anyhow, October 20, 2020 was my "gotcha day". I weighed 17.5 lbs and my new doctor said I was about 1.5 years old. I went straight to VCA Animal Hospital to visit with my new vet family and to make sure I was healthy and had all of my shots, bloodwork, etc. They basically wanted to make sure I was healthy and protected against all the bad things that can happen to us dogs if we are not vaccinated and treated for any issues. I had some issues, but for the most part, I was a healthy little French bulldog.
At VCA, I got to meet my new best friend, Dr. Manley (he's the best) and my Auntie Lily (who works there) and Kelly who is a super beautiful Canadian woman (Canadian like my new Pawdre) and the other beautiful, sweet members of our VCA family, Dr. Sharp, Tricia, Colleen, Emma, Keri, Michelle, Linda, Samantha, Lou and Adameris. Colleen is cool because she has a French Bulldog too, like me. His name is Huckleberry. They all have fur-kids, which makes them all cool too.
After my visit to VCA, I went home to be introduced to my new brothers and sisters. Louie is the baby. His name is Louie because he was born in Louisiana. My mawdre and my aunties drove to Louisiana to get him when he was just weeks old. Now he was 4 months old and Matilda and Benedict were just over two years old. We had a great time getting to know each other and running around the house and backyard making our mawdre very nervous, but also very happy.
I knew this was going to be a great home for me! I was now part of a big extended family who will love me for the rest of my days. I love all of my auntie's very much (Mare, Claudia, Ana, Lily, Auntie Heidrun and Auntie Jessica). My grandpawents also love me very much too and say that I am a good girl. I have four grandpawents, two in Texas and two in Canada. My grandpaw, Israel and grandmaw Francis live in Texas and my grandpaw Judd and my grandmaw Kay live in a super cool place called Silver Star Mountain Resort in British Columbia. They get to enjoy the beautiful mountains and snow.
I could not wait to meet my Uncle Rik who lives in the coolest city in Texas (Austin). This is where Napoleon (Naps) and Ophelia (O-Ophelia) live and Ophelia and I had a lot of catching up to do as we were both rescued from the same animal shelter by my mawdre just a few months apart. She camped out for Ophelia too just like she did for me. Ophelia is named after the song by the Lumineers.
I'm named after my mawdre's dear friend, Riley Higbee. Riley is in Heaven now with all of my mawdre's fur-kids who have crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. Riley cared for them when they were here wih my mawdre and now he is watching over them in Heaven.
I have many aunties and uncles all over the world and I love to visit them with my pawents. My Uncle Gregg in Toronto, Canada has a boy named Johnny and he loves to chase me around their house. I jump on the couch to get away from him because he's a chunkster. My auntie Claudia and uncle Grant (also in Toronto) got to meet me (and I got to meet some of my Buchanan cousins, Chandler, Juddy and Fraser) in June 2021 for the first time and I think I won them over too. They bought me treats and let me hang with their cats. Of course all my uncles in Texas love me too. My uncle David and my uncle Greg aren't too far away from us and I get to see them every now and then. They are pretty cool dudes too.

My pawents
These are my pawents. They are pretty cool and I love them very much...especially my pawdre. He tells me that I am "daddy's little girl". Don't tell my mawdre, it would crush her.
This picture was taken during our first Christmas together in December 2020. I don't trust Matilda...even if Benny is between us. She's quick! You see how she is looking at me?

TRAVELING TO....
Canada
I have been to Canada several times. It's a beautiful place but it's too cold. I am too small to walk in the mountains of snow they have there. I think Canadian Tire is a cool store, but Target is better. My mawdre and my padwre always talk about which one is best.
USA
So many places to travel within the US. We have been all over and I can't wait to see more of it.
Bahamas
Can't wait to go to the Bahamas on vacation next month. I already got my approval from the Ministry of the Bahamas.
